Collection Fix Me Up Long Lasting Make-Up Fixer

Rightly or wrongly I've had the Collection Fix Me Up Long Lasting Make-Up Fixer in my stash for quite some time but I've always bypassed it for something else like the Urban Decay De Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray.

I think somewhere deep within I associate the brand with products to make your pre teen daughter feel like she's doing more grown up things but not really working as well.  I can't answer why and I really mean no offence in that but I am incredibly honest, I don't see the point on doing a blog if you're not entirely honest.

I realise this way of thinking is ridiculous and there are things from the lower priced ranges that have blown me away like the Seventeen Blemish Balm BB Cream and the Natural Collection Blushed Cheeks range, both of which I reviewed in July 2013 if you'd like to go and read those.

Spraying this onto my face I noticed the low budget price range was evident as it sprays a little unevenly and not the fine mist I was hoping for.  It's not the end of the world but it would be nice for it to be evenly distributed since it's going onto make up that you've just spent a while applying.  After you've gotten over the initial spray you're then left with the scent, the best way to describe it as mature lady / you've just fell into one of the displays at the Chelsea Flower Show.  It's not going to stop me finishing the product but it's pretty overpowering to put it politely, I can't understand why they'd manufacture a product with such a strong fragrance.

The bottom line is... The scent is a deal breaker for me.  I think it helps my make up last a little longer than without it but I can't see me ever repurchasing it.  If it was the only make up setting spray than truth be told I could possibly overlook it but as it isn't then this is why I won't be hurrying for another bottle when this ones gone.

  1. This is really frustrating. Although since their rebrand I think collection is a lot better than it used to be it's really annoying that some of their products still just don't quite hit the mark. x
