Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balms and Matte Balms

As a massive fan of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissible Balm Stains, I was ridiculously excited to try the New Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balms and Matte Balms that they launched a little while ago in the States.  They were high on my list for things to search for and the only store I found them in in New England were a few Rite Aids and let me tell you that I squealed when I did!!

Here is the tiny stand they were in, tucked away in a corner so these beauties could easily be overlooked ** shock horror **

There are 10 matte balms and 10 lacquer balms in the collection.  I picked up four of each and now I'm praying that they release them in the UK as soon as possible so I can try out a few of the other shades!

Swatches above on the left are the four lacquer balms and then the four matte balms are on the right.

Left to right the colours are:

105 Demure, 125 Flirtatious, 135 Provocateur, 115 Whimsical, 220 Showy, 210 Unapologetic, 225 Sultry and 240 Striking.

A couple of things I want to point out, firstly being that it seems quite a few of the lacquer balms have glitter in the stick.  This doesn't really transfer onto your lips very much but I did notice that some colours left a tiny trace of the glitter as it fades through the day.

Another thing was that it seems like in the US 'drugstore' make up doesn't have testers and therefore I could only go by the packaging colour as to what the shade was.  The packaging for the lacquer balms seemed to not entirely match the product inside so it may be best for you to google swatches before making your purchase.

All of the balms have a minty feeling and scent when you apply them.  I don't find this to be a problem, in fact I quite like it as it's only subtle but it's worth mentioning as I know some dont like that.

From the limited information I've read about these balms they don't seem to mention anything about them being a stain which is a shame.   However, I do believe that the stronger shades do stain slightly, particularly the matte balms.

Above is my arm with the balms removed.  They'd be on around ten minutes so you can see that the first two shades didn't stain at all but the rest left some sort of colour.

The bottom line is... I love these balms!!  I like both the lacquer and matte versions.  I really hope they come to the UK and aren't a US only product, I don't see why they would be but that would be just my luck if it was!

I hope you found this review helpful!
