Slim Down Sunday: Week 29

So after virtually a melt down last week resulting in me cancelling my weigh in, once I had eaten what I liked on the Saturday I was ready to own it again this week.  I needed that time off, I just needed to not have to think about calories for a little while however I knew that whatever I had put on I would need to get rid of.  Also ideally I wanted to get shut of some "fresh fat" so that it felt like this week was worth it and not just one wasted that was fixing the last one.  

 
I try to see every change and really take it in, the first being the pyjamas that you can see in the above photo.  Obviously they don't match but that's okay(!) Those pyjama bottoms were too snug to wear when I bought them and now they fall down even when I tie them tight but I love them!  
 
 
My week consisted of a lot of Heck Chicken Italia sausages.  I know I've spoken about them before but for 180 calories I feel like I'm having something close to the food I used to eat, a little naughty, so I don't feel deprived.  They're good for any meal too so I will often have for breakfast or lunch.  

 
On Monday I went up to Creative Academy+ Manchester for their Breakfast & Bl*ng event which was good.  It's always a pleasure to go up there and see everyone.  Julia jokingly put a 20% off sticker on me so I had to make it clear it was actually 24% of my body weight that I'd lost so it was amended accordingly!  

 
I still get up at 5.30am for the gym every weekday morning (even when it's icy!)  I faff about for 45 minutes and then I'm there for 6.30am when they open.  It's hilarious really as when I was huge I had no energy to do anything, my back would ache and my joints would click as I moved.  Now I'm all bouncy and light, I can manage an hours work out and still be buzzing when I get home to the point where as I'll go for walks and purposely take myself places to get more exercise in.  The transformation in that sense is unreal, I buzz around my house and get a lot done too.  I do highly recommend getting a Fit Bit as being able to check that and see the calories burned etc has been amazing motivation, it would make a fantastic Christmas present as well.


 
I've been trying to find food that I will enjoy but fill me up with a lower calorie value.  The other day all I wanted was Micro Noodles so I decided to bulk it out with a ton of mushrooms which was a fantastic idea until I started eating it and realised that it bulked it out more than I was anticipating and I was stuffed but that's all good!  From my Slimming World days I remember that mushrooms speed weight loss so they're good to use.  I have also been eating a lot more fruit as well as vegetables this week.

 
Let's ignore the fact that on the lower of the two photos above, behind me is all of the stock I was sorting out in my home salon...  I did take this photo without the intention of putting it up on my blog but that's okay!  I wanted to show you a recent photo of my shoulders compared to before as I think there's quite a difference.  It's good for me to see this difference as although I can feel it, I know it's there it's easy to forget how far I've come.
 

Now, if you'd have asked me how I did this week I would have said that I would hopefully have worked off whatever I put on last week and then if I was really lucky, an extra pound as well.  I feel like you can tell when you get on the scales if it feels that you're a little lighter and I did.  The thing that completely threw me was that I weighed myself on Friday morning (naughty, I know) and it said that I had lost 2lbs so I was absolutely over the moon.  This all came crashing down when I weighed myself yesterday morning and it said that I was exactly the same as last week which made me wonder how I could put that 2lbs back on without a day.  I had two choices, I could go off the rails and threw all my hard work away for the week but something was telling me to just stick at it for one more day and see how today's weigh in went.  

I was really nervous to weigh in this morning, once again I told myself that if it turned out that it was a pound off, I would be happy as my body was also trying to get shut of last week's fiasco.  I couldn't believe it when once again, that 2lbs was showing that it was off!  I was so delighted and relieved as I have been feeling like I've been virtually the same for a long time now so it's so encouraging to see my weight loss continuing again.  I am now up to 4 stone 11lbs (or 67lbs) lost in 29 weeks.  As I'm just 3lbs away from five stone, I hope to be extremely close or actually do it for next Sunday.  One thing for sure is that I finally feel the determination that I had a few weeks ago coming back.  I can do this.  I have to do this.  I will do this.
  • Every day we have a choice, it's a fresh start and the most important part from any healthy eating plan is to just try and make as many days, good ones.
  • Losing a pound a week is still over three and a half stone in a year.
  • If you're feeling particularly down about your weight, remember that if you stick to a balanced diet then by this time next week you could have dropped quite a few pounds, just the kick start you need to get going!  Even just by cutting down on treats you could make a difference, how good would that feel?!
