Slim Down Sunday: Week 40

It's been another one of those weeks for me, you know, the type of week that rather than flying through the air enjoying my weight loss it's more like I'm being dragging across a broken glass covered floor.  It's okay, it's not the end of the world and as I always tell myself, all is not lost and I'm certainly not 19 stone 5 again, I just haven't progressed much to where I want to be.

This week has been somewhere between angelic and devil-like.  Some days I've managed to keep the treats to a minimum and get back into eating the things that I used like my beloved Heck Chicken sausages and then some days I might as well be injecting concentrated sugar into myself until I have a food coma.  It's ridiculous but recently I've just not had my mind in the right place.

That aside I do still try to bulk meals out with things that are low in calories like lettuce or mushrooms or something, it just fills me up a little more.

To be honest I have a lot on my mind at the moment, a lot planned and I'm just grateful to stay roughly the same weight considering I'm so much lighter than what I used to be.  I did eventually weigh myself on Monday as I hadn't weighed myself for the past fortnight and I had gained 8lbs.  Although this is a lot it didn't concern me too much as I knew that some of that was really temporary and could quickly be worked off if I behaved myself.

So... Weigh in and I am pleased to say that I am 4lbs down on that 8lbs gain.  As I'm now only 4lbs away from my lowest weight again I'm back a bit happier and it has spurred me on quite a bit.  I know that my focus has gone a little bit and at the moment I am still basically treading water but like I say, if I can keep my weight level until my head is back on it it's a bonus and even better if I can start losing fresh flab - wish me luck!
  • Every day we have a choice, it's a fresh start and the most important part from any healthy eating plan is to just try and make as many days, good ones.
  • Losing a pound a week is still over three and a half stone in a year.
  • If you're feeling particularly down about your weight, remember that if you stick to a balanced diet then by this time next week you could have dropped quite a few pounds, just the kick start you need to get going!  Even just by cutting down on treats you could make a difference, how good would that feel?!

  1. Woohoo to you for slicing that gain in half and showing it who's boss. It goes to show that loads of your excellent new habits are sustainable and ultimately we all need these tricks up our sleeve because there is no magic fix even when you hit target.

The fact you're still here posting, over 5 stone lighter and it hasn't even been a year is nothing short of inspirational.

    Here's to a great week!
