CND Craft Culture Collection

Finally it's time to start talking about a new CND collection and this one is a good'un!  The CND Craft Culture Collection is set to be released on the 1st July 2016 and it's such an interesting mix of shades.

There are six new Shellac shades
  • Denim Patch
  • Leather Satchel
  • Patina Buckle
  • Brick Knit
  • Hand Fired
  • Oxblood

Each Shellac shade has a matching Vinylux shade as well as two new shades that are exclusive to Vinylux
  • Brass Button
  • Fern Flannel

Leather Satchel reminds of a shade I used to have right when I first got into nails and I wore it to death so I'm excited that it's now available in Shellac.  I adore Denim Patch, it's smart and classic but as its blue it's got a little edge to it.  Patina Buckle I think everyone will go mad for and Oxblood is definitely going to be a client favourite.

There are also five Additives which perfectly compliment this collection.
  • Boho Beads
  • Russet Rage
  • Tainted Gold
  • Dungarees
  • Polished Peridot

Boho Beads are tiny and can be placed into the nail for an interesting textured effect which actually looked amazing over black (see the video I made for this collection linked at the end of this blog post) but my favourite is Dungarees which I would happily wear over any shade, gorgeous

Slim Down Sunday: Week 57 & 58

Hmmmm where to start?  So last week I didn't feel I could talk about weight loss as I felt I would just be saying the same thing as usual and that I was struggling.  Even now I'm still going to be saying I'm struggling but I've come to terms with the fact that I think I always will be and I know that I'm certainly far from alone with that.

I am totally aware that eating one vegetable isn't going to make you slim and equally, one fast food meal isn't going to make you fat but it's getting the balance right.  I have had a lot of emotional struggles that I am still dealing with and they will sort themselves out in time.  Until then, I need to control the things I can control which is my food intake.  I can feel the shift in my heart and the ball of energy I need to fight this weight battle building back up, I'm almost ready to start doing this again as I feel my size 16 clothes getting tight, I'm never going to be a 24 again so I need to stop here and get back to my size 14 clothes.

I've weighed myself and I'm actually still at 16 stone which to some, is a nightmare but I'm actually happy with that as I can get moving and going down those scales again.  I have new focuses, new goals and new reasons to do this!  I hope that next week I can be back on here reporting a weight loss again.

NOTD: Summer Chevrons

It was time for a change on my nails, the truth is I lovely the last set (the sparkly blue tips with flowers) but they were a little too dainty and timid for my crazy personality so they needed to go after 10 days!

I've been craving CND Shellac in Lobster Roll, the only thing that was holding me back was the fact that I knew I was at the end of my bottle.  Hilariously I now have a new bottle ready and waiting but me being the difficult princess that I am decided that now I have Lobster Roll as an option, I would opt for Tropix instead.  I teamed it up with Locket Love and Gold Dots fold on the ring finger and also used my Lecente D1 brush to make chevrons on my thumb, index and little fingers.  Finally on my middle finger is Cream Puff with gold stamping using MoYou Fashionista Plate 04.

Since it was such a gorgeous day today I took my photos outside for this one and I rather like it!  Tropix is the perfect colour for summer and it's easy to see why it goes out of stock when the sun is shining.
I hope you've enjoyed this post.

Slim Down Sunday: Week 56

I'm going to be straight to the point this week, I've not weighed myself.  I had meals planned for the week that I basically stuck to but then I've swapped a couple of them for meals out.  I went to a food and drink festival last Sunday which probably didn't get me off to a good start as it involved sampling some amazing food and buying some delicious shortbread and baklava in various flavours.  Food is such a vice for me and I think I've come to accept that some weeks I will be great, some weeks I will be craving everything unhealthy.

One thing I have enjoyed this week is jacket potatos.  The photo above is a spud from Spud U Like which I'm pretty obsessed with as its near one of my favourite stores in the shopping centre so at least I go there instead of a fast food place.

I know I should have weighed myself to see where I am up to but I'm going to try and focus more on eating good food this week and then weigh in to see where I'm up to.  All I can do is continue to try whilst I deal with other aspects of my life.
