Eyelash Tinting

I have a lady that comes to me for acrylics who suffers from watering eyes so finds mascara a difficult thing to wear, even waterproof versions.

She recently had her make up done professionally for an event and the woman commented how long her lashes are naturally but like most of us they're basically blonde at the tips and this is why lash tinting is such a good idea.

It's perfect for anyone who swims regular or can't use mascara or even perhaps someone that doesn't like to wear make up.

Here's a before and after photo and you can really see the difference..

You should always have a tint test first at least 24 hours before the service.  Alot of people don't like to do this as they just want it done and dusted but afterall, this is your eyes we're talking about, you only get one set so they need to be looked after.

If you have had your lashes tinted it is best to avoid any oil based products to prolong the result.

Nail Of The Day: Coral & Silver Shellac

Here's my latest Nail Of The Day video

It's more to show the particular style I've been loving recently which just basically means my hands don't match each other but they're in a set theme.

It's hard to capture the colours correctly but the look is all using Shellac although the same can be achieved with regular polishes.  The main colour is layered to create a coral shade by applying Lobster Roll, curing and then a layer of Tropix - the photo really doesn't show how amazing this colour is!

The video shows all of the steps that I did to achieve the look.

Keeping Straight Lashes Curled!

For years I've assumed that I have no lashes, that probably sounds hilarious given my You Tube & Blog usernames but that was derived from the Eylure Naturalites 116 eyelashes that everyone knows me to wear.

Last November I trained to do to semi permanent lashes and it was there that I learnt of the different types of lashes (B curl, C curl, D Curl and J curl) J curl is basically what I have, straight and mine point down a little.. Just what every girl wants(!)

I bought Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers a while ago but the curl dropped out almost completely with 30 minutes of applying my mascara yet I carried on doing this in my make up routine as I liked the look once I'd finished applying my make up.

Fast forward to a video by the You Tuber Leighannsays that was solely on the Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express Mascara (waterproof version) She mentioned her lashes in an identical description to mine and that Wayne (gossmakeupartist - another You Tuber) had made a video saying if you curl your lashes and then apply a tiny amount of waterproof mascara it will hold the curl for hours.  The method behind it is normal mascara is water based but the waterproof version is oil based and this is what does the trick.

This morning I tested this theory.  I bought The Rocket mascara in waterproof, curled my lashes and applied a thin coat, followed by a Sephora mascara that I'm testing out once the waterproof mascara had dried.

WOWSERS! Here is the result...

Both photos were taken a few hours after  I applied my make up.  I'm truly amazed by it.

If you have straight lashes... You need to try this!!  Leighannsays did mention that she tried another waterproof mascara but it didn't work out as well and she thinks its the consistency that makes the difference.

This new routine is here to stay!

Bright Leopard Print Nail Tutorial

I've just uploaded my latest nail tutorial and I thought I'd add it to my blog too.

Until I filmed this tutorial a few hours ago I have NEVER done a Leopard or Cheetah print design.  I find that shocking, I've been doing nail art for 4 years now!!

Anyway I wanted to do more of a fun, modern leopard print, something different to what you normally see so this is what I came up with...

The main polish colours in this look are NYC's in Lexington Yellow & Water Street Blue.

Here is a link to watch my tutorial:

Bridal Nails

I always find it such an honour to do a ladies bridal nails.  It's wonderful to be part of their day because I know that my work will appear in many photos.

These nails belong to a girl I went to school with.  She never has her nails done so it was even more special that she picked me to do them for her.

I took along with me colourpops of various popular bridal styles and eventually she settled on these with silver holographic glitter on each smile line.

I thought I'd share as its a stunning photo

I have a lot of product reviews coming soon!!

My latest nails

So I fancied something bright, vibrant and colourful... I sat for a while and worked out a combination and since I've not worn Shellac's Pink Bikini before I went for it.  I added Silver Chrome Polka dots and Silver Starburst Foil to the ring finger

(I have a tutorial of how to apply the foils on my You Tube Channel

I love them!! x
