NOTD: A Deeper Shade Of Red With Sparkles

It's funny how people associate certain colours with certain times of year, generally I will wear brights or dark shades whenever I want.  However when it comes to reds, greens, golds or silvers I feel like it's very easy to look like 'Christmas,' definitely if you combine the two.

Today my holiday officially commences (information on where I'm going is on my 'Whats In My Travel Make Up Bag post from a few days ago)  If you're reading this the day it's posted then I'm most probably on a plane right now.  Since I'll have these nails for two weeks I wanted to make sure I had something that I really liked.

I adore red nails but rarely have them.  A year ago I wore red for my holidays (Shellac Wild Fire) and I didn't really want to repeat it so I opted for a colour I've never even entertained before, Shellac Red Baroness.

Now here's where the thoughts of Christmas come in, I wanted to add some sparkle but anything that goes with red would look like Christmas I thought.  I decided to use Shellac Ice Vapor around the edges of all nails just to add that hint of something extra at certain angles.

I just can't believe I haven't given this red more of a chance - shocking and uncalled for but I'm glad I've discovered it!
