Unsung Heroes

I figured on a day to day basis I use certain products but don't feature them on my blog as maybe they're a little basic.  I may have mentioned them in a review at some point but haven't made it clear that it's now a 'go to' product that I return back to time and time again turning them into an 'unsung hero.'  Let me tell you about a few of them...

Mitchum Roll-on Deodorant - beauty isn't all about looking pretty but smelling pretty too.  I won't go over this one too much but in a nutshell other deodorants haven't worked, this doesn't let me down, it's a keeper.
Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream - This is the best all around healing cream.  Great for eczema, surface wounds, sunburn, minor burns and acne and gets to clear up things fast.  I pretty much only use it for spots and just apply a little dab to a clean face and sleep in it.

Lush's Big Sea Salt Shampoo - This is for those days that you just need to get your hair properly clean.  Eventually you hair gets product build up and starts getting a little lifeless and that's when I reach for my tub of this stuff.  If you have a sensitive scalp then the chunks of salt might be a little harsh.  A low budget option would be Pantene Clarifying Shampoo which is also brilliant.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Lip Repair Balm -  Lip balms are something I have never taken much of an interest with, I just want them to get the job done.  If you're like me then you'll love this balm, it makes your lips feel hydrated and amazing.  If you don't like to scoop from a pot it also comes in a stick.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Body Lotion - I'm quite picky when it comes to body lotions as I feel like a lot of them don't really get in there and do the job properly.  As a beauty junkie I have quite a few of them to test out but if my skin is starting to get dry I will then bring out the 'big guns' with this one and it never fails me.

Lise Watier Color Correction Wheel - Okay in fairness this product is pretty much limited to Canada and possibly available in the States but seriously this little wheel is a life saver.  I can imagine a lot of Canadian make up artists have this as a staple in their kits as it as it gives amazing coverage, you can blend the colours together to get a custom shade and it's all conveniently packaged.  I like their 'beiges' wheel as well as their 'normal' wheel which contains a green and a lilac section.

Clean & Clear Deep Action Oil-Free Cream Wash - I've been using this face wash for around 15 years having been introduced to it as a pre-teen by a friend.  It leaves your skin feeling super clean and has a tingling effect that I absolutely adore.  It's the perfect budget buy.

I hope you've enjoyed reading this blog post.  I'm sure I have more so no doubt I'll do an update at some point.  Thanks for reading!

  1. I saw this post on Instagram :) I love Palmers, it's literally my favourite product ever. I've never tried Lush hair products though, maybe something to try out in the new year. :)
