Modern Folklore: Shellac, Vinylux & Additives

Today was a super exciting day that I have had in my diary for weeks and weeks.  I was invited to preview the Modern Folklore Collection of Shellac, Vinylux & Additives at Creative Academy Manchester, ahead of their release tomorrow, Tuesday 1st July.

I am a keen far of the darker, deeper shades as I think it just shows off perfectly manicured nails the best so this launch was particularly excited.  It's also great for the clients that 'dont do pinks or reds' as it gives them more options.  

The collection (left to right in both photos of Vinylux & Shellac) consists of:

• Crimson Sash
• Rose Brocade
• Fine Vermilon
• Indigo Frock
• Locket Love
• Plum Paisley

Locket Love is from the existing Vinylux range but the other five are completely new!  Personally my favourites are Indigo Frock and Locket Love, I love my current nails but I'm very keen for a change to these when the time comes! 

On to the additives, they are all pigment effects which I love because they make even more combinations for my clients. 

The colours are:

• Jade Rekindled
• Ornate Halo
• Plush Velour
• Rose Notion
• Crushed Suede

I can literally imagine using every single one of these on a client which is fantastic too!

Probably my absolute favourite additive 'Ornate Halo,' I like that it's a perfect alternative to the discontinued Shellac Iced Coral on darker shades but on light shades it's a subtle pale gold.
