I was incredibly happy to finally buy some of the make up range from Soap & Glory as I'd heard it was fantastic. One of the products I chose to try first was the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer.
I adore the packaging of each and every Soap & Glory item. They're just so much fun without them being tacky. I love the names that they come up with for each product and warning information that they have on some of them.
Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer has three steps to it, an eye brightening concealer, a complexion concealer and a weightless transparent powder. I like that they've put them all into a handy compact, I just think it's genius and it means that when you're packing a make up back you don't have to think about the two types of concealer that you'll need as it's all in one with the powder too.
So I'll start with the review of the eye brightening concealer which is the left side of the duo. I find the texture is really creamy and smooth which then glided perfectly underneath my eyes without highlighting any fine lines or wrinkles like some can do. The pink tone of the concealer did give it a brightening effect but I would say that I found it to be slightly lightly coverage than what I'm used to and what I'd prefer for my dark circles.
The complexion concealer on the right side was a perfect match for my skin tone and initially I was really impressed with it. I have my Lise Watier Professional Portfolio Concealer Wheel which I adore but I'm always on the look out for a UK equivalent (as that's Canadian only.) The coverage was good but then I noticed that one false move and I've taken away the coverage over a spot that I had which wasn't good.
The powder is an excellent idea to be included, as I said earlier but I think typically, a powder is a powder so it does what it's meant to do but nothing life changing. I do like that it's transparent, I prefer powders that haven't got a colour to them.
The above swatches are straight from the pan and the swatches below are blended a little, I find that they blend into the skin easily and are straight forward to use.
As I keep going on, I do think the concept of the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer is fantastic and it's got everything going for it in that respect. I did find however for me, the concealing factor just wasn't as full coverage as I'd like. Also I feel like the formula needs to be a little drier, as my skin is oily/combination I found that it was a little bit slippy after a few hours as it worked with my natural oils which meant that my spot was then clearly visible.
I probably wouldn't repurchase it however I would say that if you have a dry complexion or minor areas to conceal, you may love this!
