I feel like I'm starting to see a pattern with how my week goes during my weight loss and this week has certainly not been any exception.
As usual I started with a huge amount of excitement. If I haven't already said my personal goal each week is to lose 2 pounds. Of course if it is less than that I do need to accept it and appreciate that I'm still going in the direction that I want to. I do have my fit bit set so that I eat 1000 calories less than what I am burning which in theory will give me a 2 pound loss every week.

I have been eating well this week, as I'm still counting calories I decided to slowly incorporate things out of my freezer because most of it has been sat there on used for quite a while. This is one of the things that I do love about calorie counting because if I was doing slimming world I wouldn't be able to have half of the things that I have in the freezer and they would've gone to waste.
On Tuesday I met up with a friend and we'd decided ages ago that we would go to a lovely garden centre and have cake. I haven't had cake in a long time so this was an exciting idea for me. I chose the chocolate fudge cake which was absolutely delicious and what I did was I just worked out my calories for the day to include it and had a very very low calorie snack for lunch to balance it.
I must admit that adverts like the one below do still tempt me. If I focus on a food for too long I was fixate on it a little so I try to push forward and put it to the back of my mind.
I do like to see changes in my body, it just spurs me on to carry on going and achieve my goals. This week it was my old coat. I haven't gone this in a really long time as I generally don't really wear coats but since I've been walking a lot more under the weather wasn't good one day, I put his coat on and realized how big it was on me - what a buzz!
So, it brings me onto the weigh in. Now I'm not going to lie, I have been hopping on and off the scales every few days to see if there's progress which I tend to do most weeks. This is a buzz if it's going in the right direction but kills me if it's not which unfortunately was the case for most of the week, resulting in a bit of a downer on Friday. The good thing was however, I didn't just binge eat. Normally I would have thrown in the towel for the week but oddly, I didn't and kept within my guidelines. This was a new mind set for me and I didn't realise it at the time but I'm definitely proud of it.
Anyway, this week I lost another 3lbs! That's 6lbs in this past fortnight since I changed to calorie counting. So this brings me to a single pound away from two stone in 9 weeks which I have to say, I'm pretty chuffed with. I realise I can't possibly lost 3lbs every week but I would rather like it if I could manage it some weeks! I'm looking forward to hitting my 2 stone goal and then I will be a few pounds away from the next weight bracket down which is ridiculously exciting - I can't wait!
Things to remember:
- Every day we have a choice, it's a fresh start and the most important part from any healthy eating plan is to just try and make as many days, good ones.
- Losing a pound a week is still over three and a half stone in a year!
- If you're feeling particularly down about your weight, remember that if you stick to a balanced diet then by this time next week you could have dropped quite a few pounds, just the kick start you need to get going! Even just by cutting down on treats you could make a difference, how good would that feel?!
